Step 1 Making the pompoms
Using the red wool, wrap the wool around 2 fingers approx 25 times. Remove the wool from your fingers then tie and cut the wool. Trim the wool to make small pompoms.

Repeat this process to make several pompoms. I made 16 small pompoms.

Step 2 Assembling the heart
Using an old box, cut out a heart shape. Using hot glue to cover the back of the cardboard heart, stick on the pompoms that you have made.

I found it easiest to start at the edge, work my way around and then fill in the middle part of the heart.

Your finished heart should look like the picture below. Depending on the size of your heart you might need to make more than 16 small pompoms.

Step 3 Trimming the wool
Turn the card heart over and trim all the way around to make it look neater. Do not cut right up to the edge of the heart leave about 1/2 cm gap.

Step 4 Adding to the material
Add hot glue to the back at the card.

Stick the heart onto the centre of the piece of material.

Line the embroidery hoop up so that the heart sits in the centre of the hoop. Secure the embroidery hoop so that the martial is held tight. Turn the embroidery hoop over and trim the material at the back all around the edge.

Your cute pompom heart embroidery hoop is all complete.
