How Can I Make A Shirt And Tie Using Towels

I love to make cute things using towels and washcloths. This shirt and tie made from towels and washcloths is really easy to make and makes a great gift. This would be a perfect gift for fathers day or a birthday. You could also make this without the bow for a female friend or family member. I used the towels and washcloths that i had but if i was making this to give as a gift i would make sure that the colours all matched. If you are thinking how can i make a shirt and tie using towels then keep reading. I will walk you through step by step so you can make this cute and really easy gift too.

Supplies i used:

Hand towel

3 washcloths

Clear elastic band

Toiletries - your choice depending on who the gift is for

Step 1

Start with the hand towel and fold 1 edge down towards the centre. Fold to about 1/4 of the towel.

Then fold that same side over again. This should now cover approx 1/3 of the towel.

Fold up the bottom of the towel to cover the folded part.

Now fold down part of the towel so all you can see is the embroided band and a small amount of the towel. This is what makes the towel look like a shirt.

Folding over a small part of the towel so that the front looks narrower and you can see less towel

Step 2

Fold down the top and the bottom of the towel. This makes the towel shorter and look neater.

Step 3

Take the first wash cloth, fold it in half.

Then fold the folded washcloth into thirds. To do this fold the bottom of the washcloth and then fold over the top part of the washcloth.

Now you should be left with a folded washcloth that can be used as a pocket.

This has now formed your pocket. Place it on your shirt where you want the pocket to be.

Step 5

Now we need to make the bow. Take the washcloth and fold in both sides. They do not need to meet in the middle.

Fold the top of the washcloth over, folding the washcloth into thirds. Next, fold the bottom of the washcloth up.

Take one of the clear elastic bands and place it around the centre of the folded washcloth.

You have now make your cute gift using towels, washcloth and toiletries. If i was gifting this i would secure the towel and washcloths with small pins. I would also consider gifting it in a box to help it keep its shape.
