To get started

First of all, you will need take one of the eggs and chose what colour jute you are going to cover the egg with. If your egg has a sticker or label on just remove the label/sticker before you get started.

Plastic egg turned upside down. Hot glue placed on the bottom with jute in the hot glue to secure it.

Take one of the eggs, Pop on a blob of hot glue onto the egg and lay your piece of jute into the glue. I started at the bottom of the egg as I found it easier doing it this way. Being careful not to get burnt by the glue carefully start to wrap your jute round into a circle. Use the piece you have stuck down as a guide.

Keeping it steady

Keep wrapping the jute around the egg. Keep the jute as flat as possible and making sure you keep it pulled quite tight as you don’t want any gaps in the jute.

To help keep the jute consistently covering the egg squirt on another thin layer of the hot glue every couple of layers. Most importantly you don’t want to add loads as you don’t want it seeping out through the jute.

Continue to wrap the jute all around the egg until the whole egg has been covered with the jute.

The best bit

Now you have your fully covered egg you are ready to add any embellishments that you want to add to fit in with your décor. For some of my eggs I added ribbon and a flower. I also tied jute around the middle of the egg and in addition added a little bow. Most importantly this is the part you can have lots of creative fun with.
