I have wanted to make pantry labels for such a long time and I have finally got round to making them. I love how aseptically pleasing they look when you open the cupboard and all the jars are nicely labeled. In this tutorial I am going to share with you how to make pantry labels using your cricut. They were really quick and easy to make really and I think they look great.
Material I used:

Step 1

Measure the front of your glass jar. This will allow you to decide what size you want to make your labels.
For my design I decided to go with 4 inches high and 3 inches wide.
In design space I used a rectangle shape and changed it to be my required size of 4'' x 3''. I also changed the colour to be white.
I then selected another rectangle and made the size of that just 1/2'' smaller. This made the size of the rectangle 3.5'' x 2.5''. I also changed the colour to be white.

I moved the smaller rectangle to be inside the larger rectangle.

Using the align tools I clicked on centre. This centred both my rectangles. This step is optional but I thought it would just give my label a nice border.
Step 2
Select the text and font you want to use on your label. For this part you can select any text you wish along with your favourite fonts.
I selected the word Pasta and I used the font inaimathi.

I also added the word Home cooked and selected the font Marion. Both of these fonts were purchased from Design Bundles and i downloaded them into deign space.

Step 3
Move your text onto your label. Have play about with the size and location until you are happy. I added a line in the middle of my label, again this is optional.
The line is part of the free shapes available when you click on the shapes icon at the left hand side of the canvas. If you do chose a line, make sure that you change the operation from being a score line to being a pen. I also had to change the operation of the inner square to be a pen too so that it drew the square.

When you are happy with the design select the whole design and click on flatten.
Step 4
Once you are happy with the placement of your text, click on make it. You will be able to see how your design will look once it is printed. If you want to cut multiple designs to save paper you can create those in the same way and then just line them up on the paper.

Once you have selected to print the design. You should see a print set up page.

I don't want any bleed on so I'm going to switch that off, I'm going to use system dialog and I'm going to click print. Normally the system dialog screen sometimes pops up behind the other screens so just watch out for that.
Step 5
Place the printed paper on the cutting mat in the top left corner as shown on the mat screen. Make sure it is securely pressed down, using a brayer is a good option.
Load the mat into the cricut and press the flashing button to start cutting. It may take a while to start cutting as the machine will read the registration marks first.

Step 6
When it has finished cutting press the button to unload the mat. Remove the sticker paper by turning the mat over and removing the paper from the mat. This will help prevent curling.

Step 7
Prepare and clean the glass jar using the rubbing alcohol and the paper towel.
Once that is all dry apply your label to the front of your jar. Hold the label above the jar like a taco and then press down from the centre outwards.

Now your jar is labeled and ready to fill.
