How To make A Fluffy Rabbit Pompom

With Easter just around the corner I have been experimenting with making these cute fluffy rabbit pompoms. In my mind I had a vision of what I wanted to make and how it would look. I absolutely love how they turned out. I did have a bit of a moment though as I couldn't decide if they looked more like cats than a rabbit. Either way in this blog I will explain step by step how to make a fluffy rabbit pompom.

Materials I used:

Pompom Maker

Pet brush

White wool

Black Thread

Wooden Beads

Hot Glue and Gun

Pink and White Felt

Scissors - Home Bargains

Step 1

Take the pompom maker and start to wrap the wool around until both arms of the pompom maker are covered in wool.

It should look like the picture below.

When the pompom is complete you can then cut around the pompom maker and tie the wool in the middle to make the pompom.

This is how the pompom will look when removed from the pompom maker. Trim around the pompom to make it look neat.

Step 2

Using a pet Bruch with metal bristles, start to brush the wool.

Brush all the way around the pompom. Be sure to hold the pompom tight in your hand. This will stop any strands of wool pulling out the pompom.

When the pompom is all brushed it will look like the picture below. You might just need to give it a trim again to tidy it up.

Step 3

Cut 4 strands of cotton. Cut them quite long so they are easier to tie, you can always trim them down at the end.

Thread the cotton through the bead and tie the cotton around the bead.

Step 4

Cut some pink and white felt into the shape of rabbit ears. Hot glue the pieces of felt together.

Hot glue the bottom of the ears to look like the picture below. This will make them look like bunny ears.

Step 5

Using hot glue, glue the wooden bead onto the centre of the pompom and glue the ears onto the top of your pompom. You now have a really cute fluffy pompom rabbit (or cat).
