Now you have all your supplies let's get started.

Step 1 - Preparing the text

Decide on the name you wish to put on the keyring and chose the font that you wish to use.

Click on the text box and start typing the name you require. Select the font you want by clicking on the font box and selecting a font that you have already purchased or a cricut font.

Next decide on the size you wish the name to be. The size can be changed by heading to the size box at the top of the canvas.

Step 2 - Creating an Offset

Click on the offset button at the top of the canvas. In the box that pops up you will be able to alter the size of the offset you want around your name.

You should now see the offset as a wavy outline to your name.

Alter the size by sliding the dot along the bar or by typing the measurement into the box. Once you are happy with the offset size click apply.

Step 3 - Duplicate the offset background

Now the offset has been applied remove the name from the front.

Next duplicate the text offset. Click on the offset and select duplicate. Now you have 2 of the same offset backgrounds.

Click on the flip icon at the top of the canvas and flip one of the backgrounds vertically.

To ensure that they are in line select both offset backgrounds and click on the align icon and this will align them both.

Step 4 - Making the centre part

Click on the shapes icon at the side of the canvas. Select a rectangle and make it quite small. Position the rectangle to fit in-between the 2 offset backgrounds.

Once you have the rectangle positioned in the centre, select both offset backgrounds and the rectangle and attach them all together.

To make it easier to cut I also changed the colour of the name to be red, this is optional.

Step 5 - Cutting the Material

For this step cut both the faux leather and the HTV.

Make sure that the Faux leather is on the strong grip mat. I used frog tape to hold it down in place. Search the materials and find faux leather. I selected paper thin faux leather and I like the pressure to be more.

The material I have set to use is faux leather (paper thin)

You don't need to mirror the faux leather.

Once the faux leather has been cut repeat the process for the HTV.

Place the HTV on the standard grip mat and before cutting remember to mirror the name.

Chose how you wish to cut the materials, I am cutting mine on the mat then click on continue.

Step 6 - Adding the HTV

Remove the faux leather from the mat. If it has cut thoroughly it will just lift straight off the mat.

Remove the HTV from the mat and weed out the name.

Removing the cut faux leather from the cutting mat

Add the HTV onto one side of the faux leather. When it is positioned where you want it cover with a teflon sheet and heat it using the heat press mini. I had the heat press mini heated to the medium setting.

Adding the name Max that has been cut out of vinyl to the front of the faux leather

Step 7 - Assembling the keyring

Take one of the lobster clips, take the faux leather and carefully fold it in half. Next thread the folded side through the clasp until the clasp is in the centre.

Adding the lobster clasp to the faux leather

Fold the keyring in half, you should see that both sides line up. Take the fabric glue and apply it to half of the faux leather. Cover all the edges in glue as we don't want any gaps.

Adding fabric glue to the back of the faux leather

Fold the faux leather over and and press firmly to secure it, wipe away any excess glue.

The keyring's are now complete.
