Step 1 - Choosing your design

The first thing you need to decide on is what design you would like on the front of your bags. I used a design that I bought from designbundles.net.

I also wanted to add a name to add a personalised element.

Upload your design and type the name required onto your canvas. I changed the font of my name to be Cakepop, you can chose a font of your liking.

Step 2 - Sizing your design

It is important to get the correct size for your design. Measure the front of the bag and then change the size of your design accordingly. I made my rabbit design 3'' high by 1.667'' wide and the name 1.5'' wide which made it 0.44'' high.

Once you are happy with the size of your design click on 'Make It'.

Step 3 - Preparing to cut the Materials

You will now be on the prepare mat screen. This is your final chance to make any changes to the position of your design. I like to save time by cutting 2 different coloured pieces of vinyl at the same time so I position my design in the same place as where my vinyl will be positioned on the mat.

*As we are using Heat Transfer Vinyl you MUST remember to mirror the design*

Once you have done all of that and you are happy click on continue.

Set the materials you wish to use. I like to use premium vinyl as it gives me a nice clean cut and I like to set the pressure to be more.

Once that it all set the cricut will start flashing ready to load the mat and cut your design.

Setting the base materials. I have selected Premium vinyl and also set the pressure to be more

Step 4 - Weeding

Once your deign has been cut and you have removed the vinyl from the mat its time to weed your design. Take your weeding tool and weed away all the excess vinyl on both your design and name.

You will just be left with the bits that you want to use.

Step 5 - Applying the design

I used a heat press mini to apply the design as the bags are only small. I heated the mini heat press up to the second setting.

It is advisable to heat the bag up before applying the design. This helps to remove any moisture from the bag allowing the design to adhere better.

I placed some parchment paper inside my bag as there was a coating inside the bag that I wanted to prevent from sticking together once it was heated.

Place your rabbit design on the bag first. Make sure it is in the centre of your bag. I used a Teflon sheet to cover the design whilst I pressed it.

Placing the rabbit on the front of the hessian bag

I repeated the same process with the name, measuring the position to make sure it was central.

Lining up the name Kieran on the front of the bag. Using a ruler to make sure it is centred.

Now you have your super cute little bag all ready to fill with yummy Easter treats
