Easy to make knitted wire rabbits

I have been seeing these really cute little rabbits all over instagram lately. I thought it would be really fun to have a go at making one. They were really fun to make and they turned out really cute. To make these I only used a few supplies that I had bought to make other crafts. Why don't you have a go at making these easy to make knitted wire rabbits.

You will need:

Supplies I used: I-Cord Knitter, Pink and white wool, Wire, pliers, scissors, Rabbit Template

Pom pom maker

Glue gun and glue

White Wool

I-cord Knitter Machine

Wire

Pliers

Step 1

Using the I-cord knitter make a length of I-cord long enough to make your desired rabbit shape. For a full tutorial on how to use the I-cord knitter machine you can read my I-cord knitter blog post here or check out my i-cord knitter YouTube tutorial here.

Step 2

When you have your desired length of I-cord you now need the same length of wire. Using the pliers make a small loop at the end of the wire. This will be needed later on.

Step 3

Thread the wire inside of the I-Cord until you reach the end of the wool. Cut the wire and make a small loop in the end of the wire as you did in step 2

Step 4

Using a large needle and the wool tie off the end of the I-Cord. This is done by threading the wool through the 4 loops that were connected to the I-cord knitter machine. Pull the wool through tightly and this will securely tie up the end.

Step 5

Using the wool sew through the loops that you made in the end of the wire. This will help to keep the wool in place and keep the wire covered. You will need to do this on both ends of the wire. Then Sew both ends together. As a final measure I do like to then knot the wool strands together before cutting them down.

Step 6

All you need to do now is to make a pompom for a tail. You can do this in a way that suits you best. Feel free to check out my YouTube videos on the different ways to make a pompom.

Once you have made your pompom glue the pompom on to the wire bunny. I used hot glue for this but you can use whichever glue you have available.

Now your wire bunny is all complete and ready to add to your easter docor.
