I love turning everyday items into cute little gifts. These washcloth butterflies are the perfect example. It is so easy to turn a plain washcloth/flannel into a cute butterfly to add to a gift basket. By just folding the washcloth and adding a pipe cleaner it looks so much cuter than gifting a plain washcloth. In this blog I will show you step by step how to make my easy to make washcloth butterfly.

Step 1 Getting started
Lay out the flannel on a flat surface. Fold the bottom part of the flannel into the middle.

Next, fold the top part of the flannel over onto the bottom part.

Step 2 Folding the washcloth
Fold the washcloth into 3 like in the picture below. Lift up part of the washcloth, as shown below and tuck in the washcloth.

The washcloth should now look like the picture below.

Step 3
Pinch the washcloth, as shown below. This is going to form the body of your butterfly.

Secure the middle of your butterfly with an elastic band to hold it in place.

Step 4 Finishing off
Finally, wrap a pipe cleaner around the centre of your butterfly. Fold down the top of the pipe cleaner to look like a butterfly antenna.

Your pompom butterfly is all complete and all ready to gift.
