How To Make A Wool Ghost Garland

What better way to decorate for halloween than to create your own spooky halloween decor. In this blog I will share step by step how to make a wool ghost garland. I used just a few supplies that I already had at home. I love making my own halloween decorations and it is something that you can also get the kids involved in too.

Step 1 Making the ghosts

Take the wool and wrap it around a book approximately 50 times. If you want fuller ghosts then you can wrap the wool more times.

Wrap the white wool around the book at least 50 times.

Remove the wool from the book and thread another piece of wool through the middle of the wool. This piece of wool needs to be long enough to hold all the ghosts you want on the garland.

Step 2 Hanging the ghosts

Thread a piece of wool through the wrapped wool.

Cut a smaller piece of wood and tie it around the wool about an inch down. This is going to form part of the ghost.

Step 3 Assembling the ghosts

Tie a piece of wool around the wool about an inch from the top to start assembling your ghost.

Once you have tied the wool, cut through the bottom of the wool. This will make the strands individual and form the ghost.

Cut through the bottom of the wool

Add goggly eyes to the ghost. If the wool strands are uneven then you can either leave them like that or try them to make it look neater.

Trim the bottom of the wool to make it all look neat and straight

Your little ghost should now look like the ghost below.

Add goggly eyes to the wool ghost and your wool ghost is all complete

Step 4 Repeat the process

Repeat this process to make as many ghosts as you want for your garland.
