How flipping cute are these Halloween kinder egg holders? They are a great little halloween project that could easily be used at anytime during the year too. They are also a good way to create something amazing out of bits of card you might have left over from other projects. Read on to find out how I made my halloween kinder egg holders from card.

Step 1

I bought my design from designbundles.net. Once purchased I uploaded the files into design space.
Step 2
Once the designs are uploaded into design space, select the design you want and click on continue. This will upload the design onto design space.

Once the design is on the design space canvas, you will see that it is too large and all attached together.

Step 3
Using the icon at the top right of the Canvas select the ungroup option and ungroup all the design. This will make each part of the design seperate.

Select the white part of the cat. Change the width of the cat to be 3.25 this will then change the height to be 5.2. Next, select the white part of the cat, the black cat and the hat and also change them all to be a width of 3.25. This will change all 3 parts together and keep them in proportion.
I had to alter the size of all 4 available designs. The sizes I used are below so you can use these as a guide. The sizes were in relation to the size of a uk kinder egg.
Cat: Width 3.25 Height 5.2
Witch: Width 3.25 Height 5.215
Vampire: Width 5.25 Height 6.294
Frankenstein: Width 3.25 Height 5.228
Step 4
The bottom of the egg holder is a bit tricker to resize. The best way I found was to click on the design and resize by reducing the size using the handles in the corner of the design. I did this until it lined up with the cats paws and both elements of the design were the same size.

Step 5
Once you are happy with all the design click on make it. This will then take you to the mat screen and show how all the different colours of card are going to be cut.
Depending on which design you chose to make will depend on how many mat colours you will have.

I selected heavy card stock as my material setting, but you can chose a setting that works well for you and your choice of card.
I always set my cut pressure to be more to give a nice clean cut.

Step 6
Now all the pieces have been cut it is time to start assembling them.
The black cat needs to be glued to one of the white cats. The purple hat needs to be glued to the black cat.

To assemble the egg holder part of the design, glue the white cats paws and stick on the egg holder. Fold the egg holder down and also glue to the back of the assembled black cat.

The picture below shows how it looks once it is been assembled.

Step 7
When all the elements have been assembled, all that remains is to place a small amount of glue to the top of the hat. Don't use too much glue or your egg will not fit.

Leave the glue to dry, then add your kinder egg and enjoy.
