Step 1

I have got two T-shirts and I have two different designs. One is like a little picture that could be a picture or a logo and the other is just a line of text. I am going to show you how to find the perfect placement for each design. Using the navy t-shirt first, I am going to press the t-shirt quickly to remove any moisture ready for when we press our design onto it. I press the t-shirts for 30 seconds at 135 degrees celsius.

Step 2

The best way I have found to get the perfect placement is to go from the neckline, and go down in the line. Place a ruler on your t-shirt and that will give you a straight line down the t-shirt. Next we need to be looking at where the material comes under the arm to then go across and that is going to give us a meeting point in the middle.

Step 3

Next, take the design or logo and fold it in half. Roughly pinch it, make sure you do this so it is not sticky sides together it needs to be the smooth sides on the carrier sheet that will be against each other. This will give us a pinch line.

Step 4

Place the design inline with the ruler. Line up the pinch mark on the design with the edge of the ruler. Make sure the bottom of the design is just a little bit higher than the the material where it goes under the arm. This will give you a good placement of the left chest design or a logo.

Step 5

Once you are happy with the placement of the design or logo, you are ready to press the design. I like to heat my designs for 30 seconds at 135 degrees celsius. Press your vinyl at the correct heat temperature for your vinyl. Once I have pressed the front, I then like to press the back for 15 seconds. Finally remove the carrier sheet and the t-shirt is all ready to wear.

Adding text

On our second t-shirt follow the same principle as before. Make a line that comes all the way down and again we are going from the material that is under the arm. As this one is only a single word you haven't got the same height of a design or logo. Therefore, we just need to make a few adjustments to slightly alter the position. Instead of being in line with the material under the arm we just need to raise it up slightly.

Again we need to fold it in half, pinch it and pop it on the t-shirt with the crease inline with the ruler. Next we are going to raise it up a little bit, not too much because we don't want it to be too high. Once you are happy with the placement then you are ready to press the text. Press it for 30 seconds at 135 degrees celsius (or the correct heat temperature for your vinyl). Flip it over and press it for a further 15 seconds from the back. Remove the carrier sheet, if at any time any of the letters are not stuck down then just pop the carrier sheet back over and press it again for another couple seconds.
