How To Make A Knitted Wire Ghost

Making knitted cord is so easy and can be used to make so many cute decorations. Knitted wire ghosts are just so cute and so easy to make using some wire and wool. If you don't have an I-Cord knitter then you can just buy the knitted cord in a colour of your choice. In this blog I will take you through step by step how to make a knitted wire ghost.

Materials I used:

I-Cord Knitter

Wire

White wool

Pliers

Needle

Step 1 Making the knitted cord

Using an I-Cord Knitter, thread the wool through the wire hoop at the side.

Then, push the wool through the middle. The wool should start to come out of the bottom. When it does pull the wool through.

Add the weight onto the wool to keep the wool weighted for when you make the I-Cord.

To start making the I-Cord, turn the handle at the side of the machine. When starting out the wool should go under the first hook, miss the second hook. Then go under the third hook and miss the fourth hook. Then you can just keep turning the handle to make the cord.

When you have the desired length of knitted cord that you need, unwind the wool. To do this just turn the handle in an anti-clockwise direction. This will then allow you to pull the wool out the Botton of the I-cord knitter.

Step 2 Preparing the wire

Take the wire and the pliers, using the pliers bend a small amount of the wire over. This will form a loop at the end of the wire.

Next, take the wire and your ghost picture. Place the wire on the picture and make the ghost outline shape.

When you have the ghost shape. Cut the wire leaving a bit extra so you can loop the end of the wire.

Step 3 Adding the knitted cord

Start to push the wire through the I-Cord. The loop at the end will make it easier to push the wire through.

When you have added the cord to the wire you will need to secure the cord to the wire. To do this take a needle and the excess wool that is at the start of the cord. Thread the wool through the loop you made in the wire. This will hold the cord in place.

Repeat this for both ends of the wire. Use some wool to also tie the two loops together. This will hold the ghost together in place.

Step 4 Reshape your ghost

When you have attached the cord to the wire, place the ghost back over your picture and reshape it.

Now you have your completed ghost too add to your halloween decor and enjoy it.
