Easy to Make Halloween Felt Pumpkin

If you are looking for a cute and easy Halloween craft then this could be just what you are looking for. I really love the simplicity of sewing with felt, it really makes some cute projects. In this blog I will show you how to make my easy to make halloween felt pumpkins.

You will require the following supplies:

A pumpkin template

Orange, green and black felt

Orange, green and black thread

Step 1

Using the template and the fabric pen draw around the pumpkin templates. You will need 2 of each piece. Use the orange felt for the pumpkin and the green felt for the stalk.

Cut these out ready for sewing.

Step 2

Sew the centre piece of the pumpkin to the larger part of the pumpkin. Repeat this for both sides of the pumpkin.

Sewing together the large part of the pumpkin along with the centre part of the pumpkin.

This is how the pieces will look when they have been sewn.

Step 3

Using a blanket stitch, sew together the 2 piece of the green stalk.

Step 4

Leave a small gap at the bottom of the stalk and fill with stuffing. Once you have enough stuffing sew up the gap continuing with the blanket stitch.

Step 5

Using blanket stitch, sew together the 2 sides of the pumpkin. Leaving a small gap to add the stuffing, the stalk and ribbon if you are adding ribbon.

Fill the pumpkin with the toy stuffing until you are happy with the plumpness. Position the stalk at the top of the pumpkin. If you have decided to add ribbon to hang your pumpkin also add that now to the back of the stalk.

The two sides of the pumpkin being sewn together with orange thread. With a small gap at the top for filling with toy stuffing and adding the stalk.

Step 6

Continue to sew up the gap whilst also sewing in the stalk and ribbon, continuing with the blanket stitch.

Sewing in the stalk and the additional orange ribbon for hanging to the top of the pumpkin using orange thread.

Step 7

Once the pumpkin is all sewn together you can add a cute face if you wish. I made my cute face using black felt and stuck it to my pumpkin using fabric glue. You could also sew on the face if you prefered .

Now you have your cute halloween felt pumpkin completed.
