Easy To Make Pompom Pumpkin

Pompoms have always been really fun to make. They allow you to be super creative and experiment making them into all different shapes and designs. The other beauty about pompoms are that they are so cheap. All you need are a couple of balls of wool and you are ready to go. In this blog I am sharing how I made my easy to make pompom pumpkin. I think they turned out super cute and look fab. If you are feeling really creative you could even make multiple pompom pumpkins and turn them into a cute autumn garland.

For my easy to make pompom pumpkins I used the following materials:

Materials I used to make a pompom pumpkin. I used orange wool, brown wool, pompom maker, scissors and a hot glue gun.

Step 1

Using the pompom maker make a pompom using the orange wool. Once you have made the pompom trim the wool so the pompom looks a bit neater.

Step 2

Using the brown wool, wrap the wool around the pompom to make 6 sections. There is no need to tie the wool as it is only going to be used as a guide.

Step 3

Start to cut the pompom along where the brown wool is positioned. Start at the bottom and cut up to the top of the pompom. This is going to shape the pompom to start to look like a pumpkin.

Continue to repeat this step all the way around the pompom until you have cut along all 6 pieces of wool.

Step 4

Trim down the large sections of the pompom to tidy it up.

Your pompom should now be starting to look like a pumpkin.

Step 5

Take the brown wool and wrap it around 2 fingers approx 4 times. Remove it from your fingers and proceed to wrap the brown wool around the looped wool.

4 small loops of brown wool having more brown wool wrapped around it to make it look like a pumpkin stalk.

Secure with hot glue.

Cut the looped ends. This has now made the stalk for your pumpkin.

Trimming the looped ends of the brown wool so that they are all separate.

Secure the stalk to the top of the pumpkin using hot glue.

Securing the wool stalk onto the pompom pumpkin using hot glue.

Your super cute pompom pumpkin is now complete and ready to add to your autumn decor.
