I love anything that is really easy to make and what could be easier than an origami Heart Bookmark. These really cute little bookmarks can be made with plain or patterned paper. Being so quick and easy makes them the perfect craft to make. They also look really great situated in your books. Follow along with my blog and I will show you how to make an origami heart bookmark.
For my origami heart I just used a 6 inch by 6 inch square piece of paper that was patterned on one side and plain on the other side. You can use any coloured piece of paper you want. I personally found it easier to use paper that was patterned on one side and plain on the other side. This made it a lot easier when folding the paper and knowing which side of the paper I should be folding.

Step 1
Fold the piece of paper in half.

Then fold it in half again, so you are left with a square.

Step 2
Unfold the paper. Turn it over and fold the bottom half of the paper in half. The folded paper should meet the centre fold.

Flip the paper back around, fold the corner over so that it meets the middle fold.

Repeat with the other side. Once you have folded the corners over it will look like the picture below.

Step 3
Turn the paper back over and fold the paper so the pointed part meets the edge of the paper. As shown below.

Flip the paper back over and open the paper as shown below and crease.

Make sure you do this on both sides.

Next, fold over the really small little squares so they make triangles.

Now you should have 2 pointed triangles. Fold over the points so that they meet the edge of the paper. This will create a flat edge rather than a pointed one.

Step 4
Turn the paper back around and you should see your heart.

All that is left to do now is fold over both sides of the paper.

Now you have your completed origami heart bookmark.

These little bookmarks will look great in any book that you are reading.
